Matt Jones
Co-Founder
Matt Jones is a writer, photographer, and educator. Originally from Houston, TX, Matt has lived in Alabama, Ohio, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. He holds an MFA in prose from the University of Alabama and a BA in English writing and rhetoric from St. Edward's University.
Matt’s fiction, essays, and environmental writing have appeared in venues such as Alaska Quarterly Review, Boulevard, Michigan Quarterly Review, The Southern Review, and Threepenny. He has been a regular contributor to Tahoe Quarterly Magazine and his work has been anthologized in the 2019 Best American Science and Nature Writing. He has received additional support from grants and residencies including the Ohio Arts Council, the Vermont Studio Center, the Leopold Writing Program, and the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology.
Matt is currently a senior writer for Bucknell University, where he also works as an assistant editor for Bucknell Magazine. His photography has appeared in ColorTag Mag, Nevada Magazine, The Standard Journal, and Ruminate Magazine.
Jess Jelsma Masterton
Co-Founder
Jess Jelsma Masterton is a writer, editor, designer, and educator. She has lived in many areas across the US, including the East Coast, Deep South, Midwest, and West. She is drawn to tourist towns and all things kitsch. She holds a PhD in creative writing and literature from the University of Cincinnati, an MFA in prose from the University of Alabama, and a BA in anthropology and psychology from Cornell University.
Jess’s fiction and essays have appeared in venues like The Arkansas International, Gettysburg Review, The Normal School, The Southern Review, and Quarterly West. She has received additional support from organizations such as the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, Oregon State University's Spring Creek Project, and the Truman Capote Literary Trust.
As an editor, Jess has worked for both university-affiliated and independent publications. She is currently an assistant professor of publishing and media entrepreneurship at Susquehanna University, where she also serves as the director of SU Press and the national director of FUSE: Forum for Undergraduate Student Editors.
